Memorial Lutheran Church of Katy has named Wyatt’s Weighted Wonderland as the benefactor of its 2019 Vacation Bible School (VBS) Fundraiser.
We are so honored to have been chosen as the intended recipient of this amazing fundraiser and when April Ramsay, the children’s director at Memorial Lutheran Church of Katy, asked where we intended for the money to go, the answer was simple – Wyatt’s Friends Fund.
…the idea of Wyatt’s Friends Fund was born, out of the desire to be able to offset the costs of our weighted therapy products through a charitable program for those very special cases when the answer “no” just wouldn’t do.Tiffany Nachefski, owner of Wyatt’s Weighted Wonderland
Supporting the community that has supported us since our start in 2016, has always been a big part of our mission.
- We partner with Krause Children’s Center to raise money to provide weighted blankets to girls who have suffered trauma and abuse for use in trauma therapy.
- We donate our fabric remnants to Project Linus to be lovingly made into blankets for the children at Texas Children’s Hospital by groups of amazing volunteers.
During Hurricane Harvey we received numerous requests to provide weighted blankets and lap pads to families that were evacuating with anxious children or to people that had sadly lost their blankets during the flood and didn’t have the money to replace them.
While we were pleased to be able to accommodate the majority of requests, the unfulfilled requests still remain on heart. And so the idea of Wyatt’s Friends Fund was born, out of the desire to be able to offset costs of our weighted Therapy products through a charitable program for those very special cases when the answer “no” just wouldn’t do.
The money raised during VBS 2019 will make this idea a reality and launch our Wyatt’s Friends Fund! We are so very excited and promise to share the stories of fund recipients on this page.
